CCKC Co, the Korean company, now the franchisee of Juan Valdez Café for the Republic of Korea, hired HAMKKE to assist them in the process to get the grant of this franchise.
After several months of hard work to design and execute the strategy to present, and fulfill all the requirements set by PROCAFECOL, finally the franchise contract was signed in early June.
Juan Valdez Coffee is the brand of the National Federation of Coffee Growers of Colombia that belongs to the coffee farmers. The coffee house chain has as a mission to successfully implement a business model that generates a unique and relevant experience around Premium Colombian Coffee.
The coffee industry in Korea (as of 2011) has the second highest coffee consumption in Asia (2Kg/person), after Japan (3Kg/person). This industry is value in approximately USD%1.5 Billion, where the coffee houses have around 15,000 stores, and its growth rate is roughly 10%.
It is a gold opportunity for the franchisor and the franchisee, to open the brand in Korea, because this country is emerging as the most influential for the region in many areas, especially in culture and fashion trends. Therefore a good positioning of the brand in Korea will have a domino effect especially in Northeast and Southeast Asia countries.
